Today, Mt. Fuji is considered a global treasure. Tsuru University is located in this historical castle town at the foot of the mountain.
Nearly 70 years have passed since the university was founded. We constantly research what today’s educational environments require of teachers, and we have been training instructors who can thrive along with the children they teach, sending them out to all of Japan.
These human resources are active in a wide range of fields, possessing practical skills learned through cooperation with local residents while using this city as their training field.
Using our past achievements as signposts, Tsuru University is on a new path as it begins a new era.
We will be training global human resources who can freely operate across regions and the globe, and will be sending them out into the world.

都留市は、山梨県の東部に位置し、富士山のふもとに広がる美しい自然に恵まれた町です。首都・東京から電車で約90分とアクセスしやすく、静かで落ち着いた環境の中にありながら、都市部とのつながりも良好です。市内には清流・桂川が流れ、四季折々の風景が楽しめる自然環境が魅力です。

Tsuru City is a small, scenic town located in eastern Yamanashi Prefecture, nestled at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Surrounded by mountains and traversed by the crystal-clear Katsura River, Tsuru offers an ideal balance between natural beauty and accessibility—it is just about 90 minutes from central Tokyo by train. Despite its proximity to the capital, the city maintains a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, making it a comfortable place to study and live.
Historically, Tsuru developed as a post town during the Edo period and still retains elements of traditional Japanese architecture and culture. Visitors can enjoy seasonal festivals and long-standing local customs that reflect the region’s deep cultural roots. The warmth and hospitality of the local community create an inviting environment for people from all over the world.
